DREAD DISEASE INSURANCE
Changes in medical technology has meant that people
are staying in hospital for shorter periods. Unfortunately
their still may be some time before a person may be
able to return to work.
Dread disease insurance pays a person either a lump
sum or partial payment on the diagnosis of a life threatening
illness. Examples include:
Cancers
Heart Attack
Stroke
Liver problems
Respiratory diseases
Renal failure
The degree to which a person is insured against diseases
varies according to the insurance company and the type
of policy.
Dread disease benefits either decrease the life cover,
or are have no effect on the amount of life insurance
if a claim is made.
Disease insurance is usually attached to a life insurance
policy, but under new generation policies, can be brought
separately.
Under older polices, the disease benefit would cease
when the principal turned 60 or 65, under new polices
the benefit is in force until the principal member dies.
With newer policies the member has the option to multiple
claim, where this was not possible with earlier policies.
Dreaded disease insurance polices are not affected
by extreme sports. To get more information please contact
